Making A Difference
Partnership with Interior Design Students Turns Houses into Homes
The Relief Fund provided a $125,000 grant to the Affordable Housing Alliance for the purchase, installation and management of six new manufactured units to help meet the needs of families displaced by the storm. Interior design students from Brookdale Community College participated in a friendly House2Home design competition to transform three of these units into homes with personality and style.

Building Back Better
UCEDC Launches "First Impressions Program"
UCEDC has helped close to 30 Seaside Heights businesses make a great 'first impression'! The program connected business owners with a professional retail designer to develop and implement individualized improvements that give the location a fresh, inviting appearance. A $2,000 grant was provided to each owner, with funding from the Hurricane Sandy NJ Relief Fund, to help put the designs into action. The result? A vibrant Boardwalk and beach community that is OPEN FOR BUSINESS.
