Sandy Relief Fund & Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity Welcome John Home
A home dedication ceremony was held last on Friday, October 23, 2015 to mark the upcoming third Anniversay of Hurricane Sandy in New Jersey and to welcome home WWII veteran, John.
John was recently able to return to his Toms River residence after repairs were performed? by Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity in partnership with the Ocean County Long Term Recovery Group. Funding for both organizations' Sandy recovery programs is provided by First Lady Mary Pat Christie's Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund. Relief Fund Executive Director, Kim Frawley attended the homecoming ceremony and addressed the residents, volunteers and partners in attendance. Toms River Mayor Thomas Kelaher also attended the ceremony to welcome John home and recognize the groups that completed the needed repairs. Cabinets Direct USA provided ten kitchens to Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity to help complete and expedite the return of homeowners impacted by Hurricane Sandy. John was also presented with a new American flag, which he proudly flies in his front yard and a large basket of food from the People's Pantry.
