RELIEF FUND AWARDS $3.1 MILLION IN GRANTS

(Morristown, NJ) October 29 - The Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund, chaired by First Lady Mary Pat Christie, is proud to announce 8 new grants to non-profits aiding in the recovery and rebuilding efforts across New Jersey. The $3.1 million in grant awards, announced today, were recently approved by the Fund's Grants Committee and recipients have been notified. With today's announcement, the Fund has awarded more than 80 organizations totaling $19.2 million
The Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund has raised more than $38 million from over 30,000 donors worldwide. The Fund expects to award additional grants totaling more than $25 million by October 31, 2013.

OCTOBER 29 HSNJRF GRANT AWARDS
A Future with Hope, Inc. - 130-140 Homes for a Future with Hope
Description: Rebuild 50 homes with a focus on helping the elderly, low-income and disabled.
Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation- BEOF Hurricane Sandy Phase 2 Initiative $100,000
Serving Hudson County
Description: Repair a minimum of 10 homes affected by Sandy and assist at least 20 senior citizens with storm related clean-up from their homes and properties.
Church of the Visitation- Visitation Relief Center
Social Services & Housing Assistance
Serving Ocean County
Description: Funds supports home repair projects, volunteer housing and case management. The Visitation Relief Center expects to assist over 1,000 in 2014 with a variety of services and resources.
Gateway Church of Christ- Rebuilding Homes
Description: Funding for home construction supplies, staffing, case and volunteer management. Organization will help 300 people with home repairs in 2014.
Habitat for Humanity International - NJ Hurricane Sandy Recovery
Serving Atlantic, Bergen, Essex, Monmouth, Ocean
Description: Pays for construction support and supplies to help more than 100 families with home repairs and reconstruction.
Ironbound Community Corporation - Newark Ironbound Sandy Relief Program
Description: Home repairs and mold remediation projects to help 150 individuals/families.
Mental Health Association of Monmouth County - Red Bank Resource Network Sandy Wellness Program - Management Project
Serving Monmouth County
Description: Funds will expand staff, mental health counseling and supportive services to 400 families and individuals.
Volunteer Center of Bergen County- Long Term Recovery Mold Remediation and Rebuilding
Description: Operational support and home repair projects. Bergen LTRG will serve between 500 and 600 cases in 2014.
About the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund
The Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund distributes funds to organizations that support the recovery and rebuilding efforts of New Jersey communities impacted by the storm. The Relief Fund aims to make a sustainable, long-term impact and will award grants over 80 organizations, totaling more than $25 million by October 31, 2013. Grant awards will fund home rebuilding, mold remediation, mental health support, economic development, and financial and legal counseling in Sandy impacted communities.
