Jersey Mike’s “Month of Giving” Campaign 2013
Special Event at Jersey Mike’s Subs in Point Pleasant Beach
Point Pleasant Beach, NJ (February 21, 2013) - NJ First Lady Mary Pat Christie will be on hand this Friday, February 22 at Jersey Mike’s Subs, 901 Richmond Avenue in Point Pleasant Beach, to announce that Jersey Mike’s Subs locations in Monmouth and Ocean Counties will be supporting the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund, which she chairs, during its 3rd annual March Month of Giving.
During the month of March, customers can make donations to the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund at any area Jersey Mike’s restaurant. Then on March 27, a special nationwide celebration, “Day of Giving,” will take place at all Jersey Mike’s locations from coast to coast to benefit 86 different charities including hospitals, youth organizations, food banks and more.
On that day, Monmouth and Ocean County residents are invited to come in to a local Jersey Mike’s restaurant and enjoy a delicious sub meal. All area Jersey Mike’s restaurants will donate 100 percent of the day’s sales to the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund.
“Jersey Mike’s is a Jersey Shore institution and as such understands the devastation of Hurricane Sandy first-hand because their friends, family and employees live in these communities. We are proud to partner with Jersey Mike’s and thank them for their help in raising much-needed funds for the recovery effort. There is a long road ahead but New Jerseyans are proud, determined and dedicated to rebuilding better and stronger. We pledge to be an ongoing resource for New Jersey Sandy relief in the months and years ahead,” said Mary Pat Christie.
“We are very proud to have New Jersey’s First Lady visit our flagship store in Point Pleasant Beach to kick off our Month of Giving as we help raise funds for the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund and countless other charities across the country,” said Jersey Mike’s founder Peter Cancro. “Giving back to the community has been our mantra ever since opening our first store in Point Pleasant. We lived through Hurricane Sandy and saw its devastation first-hand. Since the first days of the storm we have worked tirelessly to assist families and businesses affected by it. Now, by teaming with the First Lady and the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund, we can continue to support the recovery efforts.”
Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s franchisees and team members throughout the country, supported by its generous customers, have raised more than $5 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
One of the most successful fundraisers is Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving. Last year, Jersey Mike’s raised nearly $858,000 for 74 different charities for children nationwide. Now in its third year, it is looking forward to making the program bigger than ever.
About The Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund Inc., a 501 (c) 3 independent non-profit organization, was created to help New Jersey rebuild following last October’s devastating storm.
